The Cavalcaselle Fair is an event of thousand-year-old origin that takes place on Colle San Lorenzo, a hill in the Cavalcaselle area.
According to tradition, this fair originated in the year 1000, when Colle San Lorenzo was a place of rest and refreshment for shepherds who camped there during the seasonal movement of their flocks of cattle from Monte Baldo to the valley. On these days of transit, the crowds of shepherds also attracted many street vendors.
The fair thus originated as a market for shepherds, but in the 1800s it also established itself as a meeting place for the entire community. The event takes place over four days, during which bivouacs and canopies similar to the historical ones are set up in order to taste local products.
The Ancient Fair of Cavalcaselle is very popular with the inhabitants of the area because it combines agricultural tradition and folklore.
