The Garda PDO Olive Oil Consortium brings together producers operating along the three shores of Lake Garda. Its mission is to promote, protect, and enhance Garda PDO olive oil: a product that embodies centuries of history, culture, and dedication, and is an authentic symbol of the Lake Garda region.
GARDA PDO OLIVE OIL: The authentic taste of Lake Garda.
A unique territory
Garda PDO extra virgin olive oil is produced in an extraordinary environment, where lake and mountains meet, creating an ideal climate for olive cultivation. The mild climate, influenced by the waters of Lake Garda and protected by the surrounding hills, has allowed olive trees to thrive for centuries, shaping both the landscape and the local culture.
A thousand-year history
As early as the Middle Ages, Garda olive oil was renowned for its quality and value. Protected by edicts and quality control systems, it was considered a precious and distinctive product. This long tradition led, in 1997, to the recognition of the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), guaranteeing authenticity and origin.
An extra virgin olive oil that reflects its land
The olive groves extend along the shores of Lake Garda, across the provinces of Brescia, Verona, Mantua, and Trento. Here, the unique landscape, the expertise of local olive growers, and the Casaliva, Frantoio, and Leccino varieties give rise to an extra virgin olive oil with a fruity aroma and an elegant, well-balanced taste, where bitter and spicy notes blend harmoniously with its characteristic almond aftertaste.
Guaranteed by PDO certification
The entire production chain – from harvesting to bottling – takes place exclusively within the PDO area, in accordance with a strict Product Specification that guarantees quality and traceability.
Delicate, elegant, harmonious
The result is a delicate and versatile olive oil, ideal when used raw to enhance appetizers, vegetables, fish, and white meats. It also surprises in desserts and ice cream, offering unexpected pairings.
Choosing Garda PDO olive oil means choosing history, passion, and territory: in every drop, the authentic essence of Lake Garda.
The Garda PDO Olive Oil Consortium is open to the public from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Discover all our events!
