The picturesque historic centre of Affi, a characteristic medieval village in the heart of the Verona region, will host the 25th edition of Affi Medievale. This unique festival is an unmissable event that aims to encapsulate the essence of the Middle Ages in two intense days of feasting and historical re-enactment.
The ancient streets of the village will come alive with a lively mediaeval market, where dedicated artisans will set up historical workshops: from the carpenter to the weaver, from the basket maker to the potter, from the leather worker to the patient amanuensis, from the goldsmith to the knowledgeable apothecary, up to the stonemason, the baker, the papermaker and the salt and relic merchants.
The village will be manned by valiant knights and fearless archers, while musicians will play and sing non-stop, creating an authentic soundtrack. The squares and parades will see spectacular performances by flag wavers and jugglers, who will entertain the public with their skill and mastery. Saturday's programme will end with a grandiose fire show in the Town Hall Square, leaving everyone speechless. It will also be possible to taste typical medieval dishes in taverns, such as the “Locanda dei Villici del Moscal” in Piazza del Municipio.
Affi Medievale offers an unforgettable experience, combining history, culture and entertainment in a strikingly scenic setting. It is the ideal event for families, history enthusiasts and anyone wishing to experience a weekend out of the ordinary.
