San Felice del Benaco
Inaugurated on 21 June 2020, here is the first Big Bench, a giant bench, of Lake Garda, precisely No. 101.
It can always be visited, there are no opening hours or days, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, whatever the season or weather, the giant bench in San Felice sul Garda can always be visited.
The idea of sitting on a huge outsized bench is to provide a unique moment of leisure, in which one almost feels like a Peter Pan, becoming a child again.
Each new bench made has a personalised stamp that can be issued, in the case of the Big Bench in San Felice, by the Hotel San Fils in San Felice or the Cantina Marsadri in Puegnago. Enthusiasts of giant benches, tourists and visitors called 'panchinisti' who organise themselves to travel around Italy in search of Big Benches, have a passport and get a stamp on each visit.
The Big Bench in San Felice on Lake Garda is over two metres high and four metres wide.
You can get to the giant yellow bench by reaching the village of Cisano, where there is a beautiful little church to see. You park at the end of the village, near the church, in the free car park surrounded by olive trees, behind which is the Palazzo Cominelli. To find the giant bench you enter the olive groves and follow a path until you see yellow flakes hanging from the trees, a useful indication to tell you that you are on the right track. Walking through the trees, after a few hundred metres, you spot the bench! Since it can always be visited, Big Bench 101 is in a vacant space within the palace grounds, but not fenced off.
