Via Giardino Giusti 2 Verona (VR)
Giardino Giusti is one of the most fascinating examples of a Renaissance Italian garden, located in the heart of Verona. Created in the second half of the 16th century by the Giusti family, it remains a perfect example of the harmonious balance between art, nature, and architecture.
Originally developed from an ancient production site used for dyeing and trading wool, the complex—comprising a multi-level Italian garden and a noble palace—soon became an important cultural center in Verona. Over the centuries, it welcomed distinguished visitors such as Goethe and Mozart and became an essential stop on the European Grand Tour.
The garden is arranged on three levels: a lower geometric section typical of formal gardens, a more natural and wooded middle area, and an upper panoramic terrace offering a stunning view over the city.
Within the garden, features such as cypress-lined avenues, mythological statues, fountains, grottos, and an ancient maze create a scenic route rich in symbolism.
The north wing of the palace has been opened to the public under the name Appartamento 900, a space that tells the story of the Giusti family in the 20th century through elegantly furnished rooms displaying furniture from different periods, historical photographs, and significant collections. The rooms, enhanced by 18th-century frescoes and a selection of ancient artifacts, are characterized by an original “green” installation, where various botanical species interact with the interiors, creating an immersive journey through history, art, and nature.
Over the centuries, Giardino Giusti has undergone transformations while preserving its historical identity and original charm. Today, it is a vibrant place undergoing significant restoration and enhancement projects.
Visiting Giardino Giusti means immersing yourself in a unique experience of history, beauty, and landscape harmony.
