Lake Garda with kids:much more than just the lake

Lake Garda offers an incredible variety that reconcile the interests of both children and adults.
For example, playgrounds around the lake and numerous, easily manageable, bike paths perfect for families.
Finally, easy walks overlooking the lake invite you to discover hidden villages in the area (Link).

We would like to share with you some activities that are perfect for a family vacation on Lake Garda.

TIBETAN BRIDGE OF PAI

Thus, on the Venetian shore of Lake Garda, a Tibetan bridge surprises visitors. The unusual building in Crero, a part of the village of Pai, is within easy walking distance. The car can be parked in a nearby parking lot. After the walk you will find a small playground overlooking the lake, strategically placed for a break to play or after visiting the bridge.
Along the way, you reach the church of San Siro, a picture-book place of worship nestled among olive trees and cypresses in a panoramic position on the lake.
The path is easy and initially flat among the olive trees, then slightly downhill into the woods. Just before the bridge, which can be reached in less than 30 minutes from the parking lot, the path climbs and at the end it leads to an imposing steel structure, about 34 meters long and suspended at a height of 40 meters.
Great fun is promised by crossing the slightly swaying bridge and crossing a wild canyon, while the view of the lake is more than unusual. From here you can return to Crero or descend a path that leads to the lake at Pai.

MADONNA DELLA CORONA

Its position is spectacular: for example, the sanctuary of Madonna della Corona literally clings to the rocks of the mountains in the Adige Valley at an altitude of 700 meters. It is in Spiazzi, a small village 20 kilometers from the lake, near the town of Garda. Despite the imposing position, the path that leads to the sanctuary of the village is very easy and can be easily managed even with baby strollers.
It goes downhill along an asphalt road closed to traffic and used only by the local bus. Older children, however, can also descend hundreds of steps with their parents. Things also get interesting along the route, which is lined with 12 stations with large bronze statues. They represent a Way of the Cross and accompany visitors to the end, where the path ends in a narrow tunnel carved into the stone before another staircase leads to the sanctuary.
Impossible not to be fascinated by the atmosphere of this incredibly evocative place, certainly unique in the world.

We recommend visiting the sanctuary from the inside as well. The left wall and the apse, where the baptismal font is located, deserve special attention. These were made from the rock face of the mountain. The return trip uphill can be made on foot or by shuttle bus. Upon arrival, just before Spiazzi, you will have the opportunity to visit an alpaca farm. The animals will surely please especially the children.
And for those who are looking for a playground, there is an exceptional place not far from Spiazzi.

PLAYGROUND WITH MOUNTAIN VIEW

In Ferrara di Monte Baldo, which can be reached in just ten minutes by car from Spiazzi, a playground with a view of the mountains, invites children of all ages to romp around. Tractors and wooden animals for the younger ones, climbing nets and ropes for the older ones: Here you can enjoy yourself for hours.
A basketball court and soccer field are also available for ball sports lovers, while the tables and benches surrounding the park are perfect for a picnic. The beautiful surroundings of the playground will delight not only the little visitors.
