San Zeno di Montagna
The municipality of San Zeno di Montagna is located at 680 m of altitude, directly on Lake Garda.
This town is a popular destination for those seeking tranquility and contact with nature. San Zeno di Montagna is a perfect starting point for hiking, trekking, mountain biking and climbing on Monte Baldo. The whole area is crossed by several paths, ideal for long regenerating walks in the open air.
The town is particularly famous for the Chestnut Festival, which takes place annually between the end of October and the beginning of November. This festival is dedicated to the famous Marrone of San Zeno, the finest typical product of the area, cultivable thanks to the particular climate of Lake Garda and the characteristics of Monte Baldo. In addition to the delicious chestnuts, it is possible to taste and buy other typical products, such as the Castanea beer, created with native raw materials, and candied chestnuts with grappa and syrup, perfect for those who prefer a less sweet product.
San Zeno di Montagna is also known as the "Balcony of Lake Garda", because it is located on the west slopes of Monte Baldo, offering a unique view of the lake thanks to the various hillside terraces, from which you can admire picturesque views. In the past the area was used for livestock breeding due to the presence of vast plains, climate and vegetation.
