Punta Larici, the panoramic trekking with a view of Lake Garda

For an easy excursion during a fam ily holiday on Lake Garda, Punta Larici is one of the most panoramic experiences, on the Trentino side, which offers superlative views and landscapes.

To get to contemplate the view from the top, armed with good shoes and energy, start from Pregasina, perched on a mountain wall in the Ledro Alps. It is possible to park the car under the church of San Giorgio, from which path 422B begins, the fastest and most direct.

There is also another path, the 422A, which winds along the rock face, along which you come across exposed points and considerable heights, in some cases equipped with metal cables to hold on to for safety.

For this reason, the path is recommended for experienced hikers.

But let's get back to us. The panoramic trek up to Punta Larici is instead easy and suitable for everyone, even for children. The outward journey is easy, uphill in the woods, with a difference in height of about 400 meters. Walking at an average pace, the journey takes about an hour.

Following the forest road to Malga Palaer you arrive at Bocca Larici. From here the view embraces the northern shore of Lake Garda, with Riva del Garda and Monte Brione, up to the southernmost part where the waters widen.

At the exit of the wood at Bocca Larici, continue on the path to the left which in about ten minutes leads to the panoramic point of Punta Larici at 907 metres.

The landscape leaves you speechless. From the overhanging rock you can admire all of Lake Garda: from Torbole in the north to the peninsula of Sirmione in the south. It is no coincidence that the most beautiful photos of the area that circulate on social networks were taken right here.

This excursion, thanks to its natural beauty and relative ease of travelling, has become one of the most popular in the Trentino Garda area. The difference in height is only 370 meters, and it takes less than two hours to get to the top starting from Pregasina.

For this reason, it is recommended, especially in summer, to leave early in the morning both to be able to find a good parking space in Pregasina and to avoid too many crowds, but also because in the early hours of the day the sky is clearer and offers an extraordinary view on the lake and its luxuriant nature. Although the path does not present any technical difficulties or exposed parts, it is advisable to pay attention at this point: in addition to particularly vertical walls, strong gusts of wind often occur.

For those wishing to lengthen this splendid panoramic trek, it is possible to start further downstream, from the Riva del Garda power station in the direction of Limone. From here, follow the suggestive Ponale road, and at the crossroads between Lake Ledro and the town of Pregasina, take the path in the latter direction.

Just before the town there is a large terrace overlooking Lake Garda with the statue of the Madonna "Regina Mundi" four and a half meters high, another point that is definitely worth a visit, and a photo.
