Molina di Valpolicella
Valpolicella is located about a dozen kilometers from Lake Garda and its name derives from the Latin "Val polis cellae", that is "valley with many cellars". It is one of the most fascinating areas of Veneto, where past and present coexist between tradition and modernity. The area is very famous for its food and wine, especially for the delicious wines Valpolicella Classico and Superiore, Amarone and Recioto.
Many local wineries are open to the public to allow the visitor to deepen the processes and techniques of winemaking, while they enjoy the breathtaking views that the hills and vineyards offer. Often there is also the possibility of organizing a tasting, a lunch or a dinner in the cellar in order to try the typical products of the Veronese culinary tradition, with wines for tasting.
A typical itinerary in Valpolicella can be organized by joining the visit with tasting of a local winery to the nature walk at the Parco delle Cascate di Molina.
Molina is a small medieval village where the roofs of the houses are covered with large slabs of red limestone. If you cross the village on foot you reach the entrance of Parco delle Cascate, which extends over an area of about 80 thousand square meters along the Valley of Fumane: it is surrounded by nature and the waterfalls are truly spectacular. There are three paths to choose from, of varying difficulty and length. During the walk, you will have the opportunity to visit the waterfalls, to capture picturesque views of a landscape made of fields and woods, and to admire a simple natural spectacle, made magical by the setting and the atmosphere you breathe, where time seems having stopped.
