Manerba del Garda

Manerba is located in the province of Brescia, on the Lombard shore of Lake Garda, and consists of five hamlets: Solarolo, Montinelle, Balbiana, Pieve and Gardoncino.
This territory represents one of the most visited destinations of the lake, also thanks to the presence of the famous Island of San Biagio, normally known as Isola dei Conigli, and of the Natural Reserve of Rocca di Manerba.

The town of Manerba is immersed in the green of the morainic hills of Valtenesi and surrounded by magical villages and farmhouses, where it is possible to taste and try the precious oil of Garda D.O.P. and the famous wines.
The territory of Manerba offers a holiday full of opportunities among historical, artistic, naturalistic, enogastronomic itineraries and sports activities!

The Lake Park and Nature Reserve of the Rocca di Manerba is a real open-air museum that describes the landscape, the nature and the history of a unique territory. There are many paths that lead to the archaeological remains of the Rocca di Manerba, one of the most significant medieval fortresses in the whole area of Lake Garda, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the lake and of the surrounding hills. The fortress is a real natural botanical garden, with more than 400 types of vegetation.

In the area there are also the Archaeological Civic Museum of Valtenesi and numerous churches with a lot of frescoes and precious religious and artistic testimonies, as well as traces of ancient Roman and Longobard settlements.
Moreover, thanks to the numerous excavations that have been carried out in the area, the structure of one of the most important castles dating back to the medieval period in the area of Brescia has been rediscovered: the castle of Manerba in Solarolo. This castle takes its name from the diminutive of the medieval term solarium, which is a small two-story building. Today only the entrance tower and a short section of the walls can be recognized.

Manerba is the perfect destination for outdoor vacation lovers: in fact it is possible to practice many water sports and with its 10 km of coastline it boasts beaches with usually stony bottom and crystal clear water, often equipped and in the immediate vicinity of the campsites.

The weekly market takes place on Friday morning, but throughout the year various activities and events are organized, cultural events and open-air cinema.
