Limone sul Garda
Limone sul Garda is the northernmost town on the west shore of Lake Garda and is located in the province of Brescia.
Until 1932, the year in which the Western Gardesana was completed, the location was isolated and accessible only by lake or via a steep mountain road.
Limone is one of the most popular tourist resorts on Lake Garda: a place where you can breathe the typical atmosphere of an ancient village with a lively life around the characteristic port. Although Limone is in fact one of the most popular tourist centers on Lake Garda, it has managed to keep intact the charm of the small fishing village that has always characterized it.
Just above the village you can see the church of San Rocco dating back to the sixteenth century, from which you can enjoy a fantastic view of Lake Garda.
The vegetation is typically Mediterranean with oleanders, palms and olive trees.
The symbol of this location are the lemon groves located on the terraces on the slopes of the Cima della Mughera. The most famous and renowned lemon house is the Limonaia del Castel, dating back to 1700: it is located in the center of the town and can be visited upon payment.
On the lakefront there are many restaurants, bars and shops where you can try the typical lake dishes and taste the renowned local wines.
Limone sul Garda is the ideal destination not only for the lovers of relaxation, but also for those who want to explore the area through excursions or bicycle tours. For bicycle lovers, one of the most popular routes is undoubtedly the cycle path that leads to Riva del Garda, Nago-Torbole and Arco. Along this route is the new stretch of panoramic cycle path overhanging the lake.
In Limone, various events are also organized, including concerts, events, sports activities and exhibitions.
