Torbole

Torbole sul Garda is a town located at the foot of Monte Baldo, in the province of Trento. It is the result of the union of two small villages: Torbole and Nago.
The wind is what most characterizes this location and for this reason it is the favorite place for many people to practice different outdoor sports, such as windsurfing and sailing.
In Torbole nothing is really missing: there are not only several free and equipped beaches and many cycle paths that connect the center of the village to other places on Lake Garda, but also numerous trekking routes.

The most famous is the Busatte-Tempesta path: it is a panoramic path overlooking the lake, famous for its "stairs", which can be traveled by everyone in about one hour and a half with a breathtaking view of Lake Garda.
For those seeking above all family fun, Parco delle Busatte is the ideal place: it is an adventure park where you can practice many activities suitable for both adults and children.

If you walk through the historic center of Torbole it is impossible not to be fascinated by the many glimpses. From the port you can see the famous buildings of the Vecchia Dogana and Casa Breust, but also the central square and the Dazio house. It is a small house surrounded by the lake which was once the seat of the Austrian customs. From the square you can climb the steps leading to the Church of Sant’Andrea, dedicated to the protector of fishermen and in the late Baroque style.

Thanks to these characteristics, Torbole managed to fascinate many illustrious personalities from both the literary and poetic world, such as Goethe. Thanks to his stories, numerous young artists engaged in the Grand Tour went to Torbole, making this location a famous and unmissable destination.

Nago is the northern part of the municipality: it is the most panoramic point, where magnificent photographs can be taken. In this area you can visit the Castel Penede and the Austro-Hungarian forts of Nago which served as surveillance points of the main road.

If you walk between Nago and Torbole you can also visit the Marmitte dei Giganti, that is, the glacial wells that formed millions of years ago thanks to the erosion of the stone.

In this area there are certainly typical trattorias, farmhouses and restaurants where you can taste the delicacies of the area while you enjoy a magnificent lake view.
Among the most well-known typical products of Nago-Torbole there is the broccoli of Torbole, a product with particular characteristics: the typical wind of this area and the proximity to the lake create the ideal climate for its cultivation. If you happen to visit Torbole in January, you can take the opportunity to taste this local product at the Torbole Broccoli Festival, which is organized at the port.
