Autumn holidays on Lake Garda
Experience the spectacle of foliage on Lake Garda
Autumn on Lake Garda is a spectacle of rare beauty and the best time for an authentic contact with the territory.
Autumn is the perfect season to immerse yourself in the quiet of the nature of Lake Garda and fill your eyes with the spectacle of its changing colors: then the curtain opens on a spectacle of rare beauty, made up of all shades of green, red and yellow, which are reflected in the calm waters of the lake and which paint the canvas of the Garda landscape.
The scenery is warm and enveloping, the mild climate, the roads with little traffic, ideal for moving easily and discovering the territory colored by that natural phenomenon called “foliage”.
There are many campsites and resorts that choose to welcome their guests until late autumn, dedicating specially-made services to this time of year, such as heated mobile homes, relaxing spa centers and heated outdoor pools for cooler days.
The animation activities become less lively, in order to accompany the guest in an experience in which silence and the spectacle of nature are the protagonists.
On foot, by car or on two wheels, autumn is the right time for those who dream of an escape from the routine, which after the summer has restarted, but also a holiday with an authentic flavor: a combination of outdoor experiences, wonderful landscapes and traditional pleasures.
At this time of the year, you can discover the numerous trekking itineraries that cross the vineyards to reach the ancient sanctuaries, such as that of the Madonna della Corona, which owes its name to the frame of the mountain peaks that surrounds it, and the intimate villages of the hinterland, such as that of Campo di Brenzone sul Garda, known for the panoramic paths that lead there.
Ideal in these months of the year is to discover the area on the saddle of a road bicycle or an electric city bike, alone or in the company of the whole family, along the silent roads that line the shores and the villages overlooking the lake, such as the flat cycle path that connects Lazise to Punta San Vigilio: an itinerary of about 13 km that goes through the villages of Bardolino, known for its liveliness and its renowned wine of the same name, and the village of Garda, lying on its splendid gulf and famous for its legendary Rocca.
In autumn there is no shortage of opportunities to get to know and savor traditional food and wine products, participating in festivals and events dedicated to the tasting of the flavors of the territory, such as the usual Bardolino Grape and Wine Festival, which for almost a century livens up the alleys of the village during the days between September and October.
October is also the month of olive harvesting on Lake Garda, a fascinating opportunity to visit the mills that begin to grind and process the fruits that will give one of the most popular and tastiest extra virgin olive oils in the world.
The autumn holiday on Lake Garda then becomes a moment to discover the most authentic side of the territory and to take care of yourself, as a couple or with the whole family: a holiday that will remain in the heart.
