Food & Wine Lovers holiday
Discovering the flavors of Lake Garda
For true lovers of the authentic and refined flavors of the Italian tradition, Lake Garda represents an unmissable destination and a promise of taste of the highest quality.
The mild climate, the morphological variety and a wise centuries-old tradition have made this area the ideal place for the growth of a rich and fragrant vegetation, capable of giving important and delicate notes at the same time to the typical food and wine products of this area.
What makes Lake Garda talk about excellence are above all its productions of extra virgin olive oil and a wide variety of wines, of which we have traces on the coast and in the hinterland since the Bronze Age and that, over time, have delicately modeled the landscape, recognizable today thanks to the presence of expanses of luxuriant olive groves and vines.
Often the same campsites arise immersed in these pictorial plantations, with small productions of oil and wine of property, all to be tasted on the tables of the restaurants and purchasable in the shops inside the facility.
There are many proposals from the campsites to let the guest live a 360-degree taste experience, such as wine tastings directly in the vineyard, picnics immersed in the olive trees and guided visits to oil mills and cellars to discover all processes that lead to the birth of products with renowned flavors.
Wine lovers will then discover the spicy, aromatic, fruity and floral scents of Bardolino, Garda Doc or Chiaretto, born from the perfect combination of the rich variety of grapes present in the area and the strong personality that each winery transmits to its product.
There are over twenty denominations of Garda wines, all certified by the DOP acronym that protects the origin and the production methodology, and there are many wineries that welcome visitors for a guided tour through a story that comes from an ancient tradition to the present days, making the most of its characteristics.
There are also many events and festivals in the villages where you can spend an evening dedicated to the taste of the territory, unmissable opportunities to taste the refined combinations that characterize the local cuisine. You can then try delicate recipes based on lake fish accompanied by a glass of a scented Lugana or an intense Custoza, or let yourself be tempted by the savory first courses made with cheeses and game, accompanied by a rich Groppello wine or an elegant Garda Merlot.
Even the many proposals of the local oil mills arouse more and more interest in a tourism in search of flavor and quality on Lake Garda, as they offer visitors real tours, which from the olive grove cross the traditional oil mills and end with guided tastings, where it is possible to learn how to recognize all the characteristics of an excellent extra virgin olive oil.
Lake Garda is therefore a territory to be explored, also through the flavors and aromas of a cuisine capable of describing its nature and an ancient culture.
